Understanding Wisconsin Motorcycle Insurance

As your attorney, I will take the time to explain insurance issues. Wisconsin's state insurance requirements set the minimum limits at 25/50/10. Beginning January 2010, this required coverage includes the following:

  • Minimum bodily injury: $50,000 per person injured and $100,000 for all people injured
  • Minimum property damage: $15,000 for injury to or destruction of property of others
  • Uninsured Motorist (UM): $100,000 per person injured and $300,000 for all people injured and must also include a minimum of $1,000 for medical expenses
  • Underinsured Motorist (UIM): If purchased, minimum is $100,000 per person or $300,000 for all persons

What if I am injured by an underinsured or uninsured motorist?

If you are injured in a motorcycle accident by a person who is underinsured or does not have any insurance, you can recover compensation through your UM/UIM coverage. However, this is where injured people often run into bad faith insurance claims. If your insurer is denying a claim, delaying a claim, requesting excessive and unnecessary information to process your claim or is attempting to settle for far less that what you deserve, they are likely acting in bad faith.

I handle all complex insurance issues and demand the fair compensation my injured clients need. You should expect nothing less when you are dealing with a catastrophic injury.

I handle motorcycle accidents on a contingent fee arrangement. You have no out-of-pocket risk, and I am only paid if recovery is obtained on your behalf.
